Location. This classic motor home lodge offers a welcome alternative to the rush and congestion of central Tacoma, Wash. With views of Mount Rainier, the Sunshine Motel, located in Fife, Wash., offers a scenic stopover just a few miles from popular attractions such as the Tacoma Dome and the Museum of Glass. Within four miles of the lodge is downtown Tacoma and less than four miles away is the Washington State History Museum and the University of Washington Tacoma.
Hotel Features. The motel serves complimentary continental breakfasts each morning. There are several chain and casual dining restaurants nearby. Complimentary fresh, hot coffee is available in the lobby along with complimentary wireless Internet access.
Guestrooms. Remodeled in 2003, guestrooms at this motor inn are neatly furnished and some include sofas and chairs. All 40 rooms are accessible by exterior corridors and feature complimentary wireless Internet access and cable/satellite television with premium channels. Microwave ovens and refrigerators are available upon request. Pets are allowed here for a fee.
Expert Tip. The Washington State museum holds a massive archive of history with high tech displays to make the subject matter fun and interesting. The state's history comes alive through life sized mannequins, voice over narration and interactive exhibits.
