The Armonia Hotel is a whitewashed, budget property located 250 metres from the sandy beach and one kilometre from the buzzing centre of Malia. The 25 guestrooms, over two floors, feature light decor and simple furnishings. All offer mountain views, safes and extra towels, linen and bedding. Bathrooms have showers.
Guests can start the day with the hotel's breakfast, go for a dip in the outdoor swimming pool, and lounge beneath umbrellas on the sun beds. There is also a pool bar for a cooling drink, while practical amenities include complimentary parking, a front desk and a television in the lobby. The hotel is well placed for exploring the surrounding area; the Minoan Palace is three kilometres away, and the open air museum at Hersonissos is five kilometres distance. The nearest airport is Heraklion International Airport 35 kilometres away, with a driving time of 35 minutes.

A typical taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is 34 EUR. The best way to get around Crete is by rental car or bike, although buses go to most places throughout the island. The Cretan bus company KTEL has stations in all the larger cities and stops all along the routes. Many locations are also accessible by ferry and boat taxi. Taxis in Crete are reasonable but visitors should make sure the driver uses the meter.
Driving directions: From the airport take the new National Road in the direction of Agios Nikolaos. Take the exit for Stalides (Stalis), and turn right then left at the traffic lights at the old National Road. At the T junction turn right and follow the beach road until signs for Ikaros Village on the left. The hotel is here.
